The City Council of Villanueva de la Cañada has made available the Santiago Apóstol pavilion for the eventual accommodation of residents evacuated due to the fires affecting the Community of Madrid, now unified in a single front.
According to the City Council in an informative note, the facility has been adapted to offer temporary accommodation and ensure coverage of the basic needs of the evacuated residents, if determined by the direction of the operation, which depends on the central Government after the declaration of national interest emergency.
"From the City Council, we want to convey all our support and solidarity to the residents of the municipalities affected by these fires. We have made our municipal resources available to the authorities to collaborate in everything that is necessary and to assist those who have had to leave their homes," said the mayor of the locality, Luis Partida.
