The platform will make it possible to host and operate data, critical applications, and artificial intelligence workloads under European control. The alliance is born with a commitment to ecosystem-building: open to new capabilities and partners, without giving up comprehensive responsibility to the customer. A single service model will connect the data center, cloud, cybersecurity, applications, and operations to reduce complexity and accelerate results.
Atos, a global leader in digital transformation driven by artificial intelligence, and NxN join forces to address a strategic question: who controls the infrastructure on which companies’ and public administrations’ data and artificial intelligence will operate? With this objective, Atos and NxN, a company specialized in the development and management of next-generation data centers and digital infrastructures, lead the creation of a new sovereign digital platform.
This new infrastructure will combine next-generation data centers deployed in Spain and Portugal with managed services, hybrid cloud, cybersecurity, and applications. It will offer organizations an integrated solution and service under European control, designed to manage critical workloads, high-density requirements, and artificial intelligence.
"Europe needs to regain the ability to have European solutions for an infrastructure that has become critical. With Atos, we can combine next-generation digital infrastructure deployed in Spain and Portugal with top-tier technological and management capabilities, offering companies and administrations a European solution that is solid, secure, scalable, and ready for the new artificial intelligence workloads," explained the executive president of NxN Data Centers, Javier Salas.
Atos supports public and private organizations across multiple sectors —including financial services, industry, energy and utilities, telecommunications, healthcare, transport, distribution, defense, and public administrations— that operate large information systems, digital platforms, and critical infrastructures hosted in data centers. "This agreement is proposed as a long-term, non-exclusive strategic alliance, designed to create a platform in which critical infrastructures, such as regional data centers, are combined with managed IT services, cybersecurity, hybrid cloud, and capabilities oriented toward compliance with the main regulatory frameworks and operational standards. The platform will enable the development of an integrated proposal tailored to the dynamic needs of clients, strengthening differentiation of the offering, accelerating the time to market for new solutions, and improving competitiveness", the CEO of NxN Data Centers, Sergio Riolobos, has explained.
"The next frontier of operations does not consist of monitoring more screens, but of incorporating agents capable of observing, correlating, anticipating, and acting before an incident impacts the business. With our secure, governed, enterprise-grade agent platform for IT operations, Atos introduces a layer of operational intelligence that coordinates specialized agents for anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, incident management, capacity, vulnerabilities, and remediation. These agents work on the customer’s technology ecosystem with progressive autonomy, AI security, governance, guardrails, full traceability, and human control: they do not replace operations; they turn it into an augmented, predictive operation that is ready to evolve toward secure self-recovery models", Salvador Folgado, Head of Cloud & Modern Infrastructure at Atos in Iberia, has said.
The shared goal is to generate sustainable and measurable value for end customers through a cohesive offering, while also supporting the growth of both companies, expanding their commercial reach, and establishing long-term relationships based on trust, performance, and innovation.
From a fragmented supply chain to a single end-to-end responsibility
The alliance replaces fragmentation with integrated accountability: a single point of contact to design, deploy, and operate from physical infrastructure to applications and IT services. The benefit is less contractual and operational complexity, greater speed to activate new capabilities, and a shared vision for security, continuity, and performance. This is not about adding providers, but about making the entire digital chain work as a single platform.
Riolobos has stated that "the combination of NxN Data Centers’ experience in infrastructure and Atos’s capability in IT services management will make it possible to ensure business continuity and respond to compliance requirements associated with critical operations".
