Air Europa has decided to extend the cancellation of its flights originating from and destined for Tel Aviv (Israel) until next June 28, due to the situation the Middle Eastern country is going through because of the conflict in the area, according to the airline's latest communication.
"We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this situation, beyond the company's control, may cause you," the company explained on its website.
To facilitate the reorganization of trips, the company allows date changes at no cost until October 31 and route modifications to or from Istanbul or any other European destination, maintaining the same cabin, also until October 31, in addition to offering a voucher or a full refund of the ticket.
This measure is adopted even after the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) softened its recommendations on flights to Israel and other states, including the United Arab Emirates, on May 12, while urging special caution.
As a consequence of this change in criteria, several European airlines have opted to resume their operations with Tel Aviv. Lufthansa will resume its flights progressively from June 1, while Wizz Air and Turkish Airlines will return to operate on May 28 and June 8, respectively.
However, British Airways, belonging to the IAG group, has postponed its return to Israel until August 1 and has also extended the suspension of flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates).
