Navantia's leadership has responded to the criticism from the Ferrol shipyard's works committee, emphasizing that no strategic plan was presented to the Navy on Tuesday, and underscoring that it maintains a "permanent dialogue with the social partners."

Sources from the public naval company have clarified that the alleged strategic plan referred to "is not approved" and that the meeting held at a hotel in the neighboring municipality of Narón is part of an internal meeting of company executives.

According to their statements, these types of meetings are organized approximately every two years. The previous one took place at the Rota naval base (Cádiz), aboard the LHD Juan Carlos I vessel, and on this occasion, Ferrol was chosen with the added objective of allowing managers from other work centers to experience the Ferrol shipyard and its industrial capabilities firsthand.

During the day, the same sources pointed out, the company's broad future strategic lines are being analyzed, reiterating once again that no strategic plan has been presented to the Navy.

The company also detailed that the meeting was held at a hotel because neither the shipyard's facilities nor the Ferrol Military Arsenal had adequate spaces to host the event. In this context, it specified that the Admiral Chief of the Ferrol Military Arsenal was invited "out of courtesy."

Regarding the Special Modernization Program (PEM), Navantia has indicated that this document has also not yet received the green light and that the allegations made are still under study and evaluation.

Finally, the management has reiterated that it maintains a "permanent dialogue with the social partners," in reference to the complaints raised by the workers' representation.
