Sumar has pointed out that, as of today, a possible consensus on the text of the housing royal decree that the Government plans to bring to the Council of Ministers this Tuesday is still "very far away," according to sources from the formation who have indicated to Europa Press.
For the coalition partner of the Executive, the decree "must listen to the clamor of the street" and, at this moment, the proposal still does not offer a sufficient response in several specific aspects: guaranteeing full protection against evictions, addressing the regulation of seasonal rentals and rooms, extending the renewal of contracts, combating fraud linked to tourist apartments, and ensuring the renewal of contracts.
"We are not going to allow elements that are central to tackling the housing crisis that our country suffers to be diluted," they warn from the formation.
In this context, Sumar emphasizes that, at this point, they are still "far from having an agreement on the text" and underline their determination to continue negotiating throughout the day to try to bring positions closer. "We are not going to validate a text that is not up to the moment that citizens demand," they warn.
