The Young Summer 2026 again offers discounts of up to 90% for traveling by train and bus to thousands of young people in Spain. To benefit from the aid, it is essential to register in advance and obtain a personal code, which must be used when purchasing tickets.
Young Summer 2026: who can request the discount and how to use the code
The Young Summer 2026 program, promoted by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, will be in effect between July 1 and September 30, 2026 and will allow travel with significant discounts on state-operated trains and buses.
Who can apply for Young Summer 2026
Young people who meet these requirements can access the program:
- Be between 18 and 30 years old, that is, having been born between January 1, 1996 and December 31, 2008.
- Have Spanish nationality or legal residence in Spain.
There are no income requirements, nor is it necessary to be a student or employed.
How to obtain the Young Summer code
To obtain the discounts, it is mandatory to complete a free registration on the website provided by the Ministry.
The procedure consists of:
- Registering with DNI, NIE or passport, as applicable.
- Completing the verification of personal data.
- Waiting for the validation of the application.
- Receiving a personal and non-transferable code, which will be valid throughout the campaign.
The registration must be done at least 24 hours before purchasing the first ticket.
How to use the code
Once received, the code must be entered during the purchase process on the websites or sales channels of the participating operators, such as Renfe, Iryo, Ouigo or the state-operated bus companies. The discount is automatically applied if the traveler meets all the program requirements.
If the user loses the code, it can be recovered from the official platform of the Ministry.
What discounts are included
The bonuses planned for 2026 are:
- 90% discount on regular state-operated buses.
- 90% on Conventional Medium Distance and Meter Gauge trains.
- 50% on High Speed and Long Distance trains, with a maximum limit of 30 euros per ticket.
- 50% on the Interrail Global Pass marketed by Renfe.
What happens if there is improper use
The code is personal and non-transferable. Using it fraudulently or failing to comply with the program's conditions may result in the loss of the right to continue enjoying the discounts, in addition to other measures provided for in the regulations.
