The Plenary of the Council of the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC) agreed this Thursday on the reconfiguration of the composition of its two chambers, once the arrival of the new president and three councilors to the institution was formalized.
On July 22, the appointments of Juan José Ganuza Fernández as the new president of the CNMC, and Carmen Balsa Pascual, Joan Capdevila i Esteve, and Marina Echebarría Sáenz as councilors of the institution were published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
In the meeting held today, the Plenary of the Council of the CNMC has given the green light to this new internal structure, distributing its members between the Competition Chamber and the Regulatory Supervision Chamber, and has also ordered that this composition be made public in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
The Council is structured into two differentiated chambers: one focused on competition matters and the other oriented towards regulatory supervision, each composed of five members. The Competition Chamber is chaired by the president of the CNMC and the Regulatory Supervision Chamber by the vice president.
With the new assignments, the Competition Chamber is composed of Rafael Iturriaga Nieva, Pere Soler Campins, María Vidales Picazo, and Carmen Balsa Pascual. The presidency will correspond to Juan José Ganuza Fernández, president of the CNMC.
For its part, the Regulatory Supervision Chamber will be composed of María Jesús Martín Martínez, Enrique Monasterio Beñaran, Marina Echebarría Sáenz, and Joan Capdevila i Esteve. The presidency will correspond to Ángel García Castillejo, vice president of the CNMC.
