The secretary of Political Action of EH Bildu, Arkaitz Rodríguez, has claimed "the street," where "there is no algorithm," and the "social ties, building community and organizing and mobilizing people" as "the best way, the greatest antidote to face discourses of hate and fascism." He has also stressed that this will be "the campaign of Euskal Herria Bildu," whose "main exponent" will be the national demonstration on Saturday, November 14, when "the biggest political act ever carried out by anyone in this country during an election campaign" will take place.

This Sunday in Bilbao, the sovereignist coalition held a political event in which, alongside Rodríguez, the head of the list to the Senate for Bizkaia, Idurre Bideguren, intervened, with the aim of presenting the campaign ahead of the general elections of 29N, which will be held under the slogan "Posible Egin. Guarantee and rights" (to make it possible).

Along these lines, the secretary of Political Action of EH Bildu has emphasized that the formation "is not going to carry out a conventional election campaign," but will instead promote "a street campaign, a town campaign, in which the people will be the protagonists."

Rodríguez insisted that "we are not going to get distracted, we are not going to get into the mud. We are going to talk about what worries people, about housing, about wages, about pensions, about the rising cost of living, or about public services, because that is what people are demanding and that is our responsibility."

Referring to Lula da Silva's victory in Brazil, he has pointed out that this result "has offered two great lessons: the first of them, that it is possible to stop the reactionary bloc, and the second, that for that, the street, mobilization, and popular organization are fundamental."

As he has reiterated, "EH Bildu, like Lula, does not count and will not count on the favor of the big media, nor on the favor or the support of economic and financial elites, but we have something much more important, which cannot be paid for, either with all the money in the world: the people, the people."

For Arkaitz Rodríguez, the "main asset" of the sovereignist coalition in the face of the upcoming general elections is "militancy, all those people who share the project of Euskal Herria Bildu," along with "those who, without agreeing with all the proposals, understand that at this historical moment it is essential to unite forces and act as a people."

"There is no algorithm on the street"

The leader of EH Bildu has detailed that in the election campaign "we are going to hold rallies, offer interviews, political events like the one today," but he has emphasized that, above all, "we are going to take the streets, mobilize and organize tens of thousands of people, because on the street there is no algorithm; there are people who meet, who listen, who recognize each other and decide to act together."

In this context, he has urged people to join the national demonstration called for next Saturday, the 14th, in Bilbao, which he has described as "the biggest political event ever held by anyone in this country in the context of an election campaign."

In his final speech, Rodríguez called to "fill the ballot boxes with votes that are independentist, sovereignist, feminist, Basque-language (euskaltzale) and anti-fascist," and he added that "beyond all of that," they invite people to "organize and fight, because only a well-organized people can achieve great goals."

"A call that faces resignation"

For her part, Idurre Bideguren, the EH Bildu candidate for the Senate for Bizkaia, has stressed that the elections of the 29N "are not any ordinary election," but elections in which "the future of our country and the rights and freedoms of workers, of women and of the Basques are at stake." "And it is enough to look at the world to draw lessons in these times in which we must choose between civilization and barbarism," she has said.

Bideguren has explained that EH Bildu's message is "a call that faces resignation" with the aim of "raising the banner of hope."

"We are convinced that there is a chance, that it is possible to win the game against the authoritarians, the reactionaries and the owners of the algorithms, because when people come together, when we reach out our hands, we make things possible," she has highlighted, recalling that that is the campaign slogan of the coalition, "Posible egin, garantía y derechos."

Likewise, she has defended that EH Bildu is "a guarantee," because "we do what we say and we say what we do; we are people of our word," something that, as she has indicated, is reflected in "the work carried out in Madrid over the last few years."

"We are a guarantee, and while it is in our hands, the far right will not achieve any of the dark objectives it has; we are the credible and honest option to represent Euskal Herria in Madrid, but we are also a guarantee to drive forward progressive, ambitious, and brave policies," Bideguren concluded.
