The general secretary of the PSOE of Castilla y León, Carlos Martínez, has predicted that "there will be Pedro Sánchez 2030," considering that the socialist leader will prevail in the general elections on November 29 and will continue at the head of the Government until that year. In front of this scenario, he has pointed to the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, whom he attributes the "objective of discouraging the vote."

Martínez has supported the president of the Government and general secretary of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, this Sunday at a pre-campaign event held in Ponferrada (León), where he urged the socialist membership to "give their all" in the upcoming elections.

In his speech, he has called on his own to intensify the work to activate the citizenship against the strategy he attributes to the PP that "people stay at home" or "only go to vote" for the 'populars', directly pointing to Feijóo as responsible for that tactic.

In response to this and to the "insults" that, he has denounced, the right throws against the PSOE, Martínez has appealed to respond "with votes, fists, and roses in the ballot boxes of the municipalities of Castilla y León," with the goal of revalidating a central Executive presided over by Sánchez to "continue consolidating Spain as an ethical, moral, ideological, and progressive beacon."

In his view, maintaining that project is a "necessity" both on the internal and international level, due to the "courage" he attributes to Sánchez for "standing firm against the oligarchs" who "want to control the economy and the lives" of the citizens.

In this line, the socialist leader from Castilla y León has expressed his "pride" in Sánchez's role on the international stage, from where, he said, he contributes to "proposing a counter-power" in an "absolutely hellish context" like the current one.

According to Martínez, this international projection will also "serve" to "achieve a majority" on November 29. He has also defended the "economic development achieved" in Spain in the last eight years, despite the fact that Sánchez's Government has had to "ride pandemics and polganes." "We are missing the meteorite," he has joked.

The leader of the regional PSOE has also claimed the migration policy of the central Executive and has cited the case of Ceuta, a challenge that, he has stated, "is being resolved" through a "silent and quiet" action, and "without demonizing and without criminalizing" people "of different color and with different God, but with equal rights."

Martínez has also emphasized that the pending "revolution" must be "feminist, or it will not be." In this context, she has highlighted the work of the procurators of the Socialist Parliamentary Group in the Cortes and has evoked the figure of Nevenka Fernández, who, in her view, must be "absolutely key and fundamental to continue advancing."

On the issue of equality, she has condemned the recent rejection in the Cortes, by PP and Vox, of an initiative to adapt regional regulations to the State Pact against Machista Violence. At this point, she has warned that women have become "the bargaining chip" for the PP to "secure the seat."

In the final stretch of her speech, Martínez has remembered Maricarmen, who recently passed away after being evicted, and has admitted that "she has ignited a flame of a demand that calls on everyone," the defense of the right to housing.

In this context, she has valued the "courage" of Sánchez's Government for having promoted new rights and has emphasized that this attitude demonstrates that the PSOE aims to govern "until the last minute."

"There will be PSOE 2030, there will be Pedro Sánchez 2030," she reiterated, before assuring that in a new legislature the PSOE will deepen "the right to housing" with the "confluence and consensus of all actors." "That is our strength against their insults, the strength of the Official State Gazette, the strength of budgets that finance public policies and guarantee equality. That is the tool we have to face the housing problem in the coming years," she concluded.
