The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN), an agency dependent on the Ministry of Consumption, has reported this Thursday the detection of undeclared sildenafil in the labeling of the food supplement "Potent Plus", indicating that its ingestion can cause adverse reactions of varying severity.
According to the notification sent by the health authorities of Catalonia, the product affected by the alert is "Potent Plus Food supplement", of the brand Potent Plus, which is presented in cardboard boxes with 15 capsules of 350 milligrams each.
AESAN has indicated that the presence of this active substance not mentioned on the label of these food supplements can exert pharmacological effects and entail risks to the health of those who consume them.
The information has been communicated to the competent authorities of the autonomous communities through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIR), in order to verify the withdrawal of the affected batches from all sales channels.
Likewise, the agency advises people who have any of the products included in this alert at home to avoid consuming them.
