Abelardo de la Espriella has assumed the Presidency of Colombia this Friday in an official ceremony held in the city of Cali, in the department of Valle del Cauca, an event that was not attended by the outgoing president Gustavo Petro nor the former candidate of the Historical Pact, Iván Cepeda.

The far-right leader has thus sworn his position "to the Colombian people" to exercise the Head of State for the next four years, with a mandate until 2030.

The event was attended by the king of Spain, Felipe VI, as well as the presidents of Argentina, Javier Milei; Ecuador, Daniel Noboa; Chile, José Antonio Kast, and other authorities, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia, Héctor Huanca.
