At least 27 people have lost their lives in a fire registered in a bar in the Ladprao neighborhood, in Bangkok, where several customers were trapped inside the premises.
The fire broke out in the early morning and the first alert to the emergency services occurred at 0.26 hours (7.26 p.m. in peninsular Spain), according to local media reports.
Fire crews from the nearby districts of Phaholyothin, Phayathai, and Huai Khwang quickly moved to the scene to collaborate in the efforts to extinguish the flames and rescue the people who were still inside the establishment.
Around 1.22 a.m., the prime minister and minister of the Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, appeared in the area of the incident to closely follow the evolution of the emergency and supervise the deployed operation.
