At least seven people have been injured after an explosion occurred inside a minibus in the town of Yaramana, near the Syrian capital, Damascus, according to authorities in the country on Thursday.

The Syrian Ministry of Health has indicated to the state news agency SANA that seven injuries have been counted so far. At the same time, emergency teams have located "human remains that are being examined by forensic teams according to established protocols."

The blast occurred at the Al Rauda intersection in the mentioned municipality, located just three kilometers southeast of Damascus, as detailed by the Ministry itself.

After the detonation, medical services immediately moved to the site with the aim of providing a "rapid response" and proceeding with the "immediate" evacuation of the injured, while hospitals and emergency services in the area have been put on "maximum alert."

So far, the origin and cause of the explosion have not been clarified.

Less than a month ago, two explosions occurred in the Syrian capital, near the hotel where French President Emmanuel Macron was staying during his official visit to the country, resulting in one death and more than 35 injuries.
