The Armed Forces of China and Russia are scheduled to carry out joint naval maneuvers this July near the coastal city of Qingdao, in Chinese territory. These activities include coordinated exercises in both maritime waters and airspace and will conclude with a joint naval patrol in the Pacific Ocean.
The Chinese Ministry of Defense stated this Sunday in a brief communiqué that these maneuvers, under the designation "Joint Sea 2026" ("Mar Conjunto 2026"), are part of the annual military cooperation plan agreed upon between both countries.
According to Chinese authorities, the purpose of these exercises is to strengthen the operational capacity of both armies to face security challenges, as well as to contribute to the maintenance of regional peace and stability.
However, Beijing has not yet offered details on the exact schedule of the maneuvers, nor has it revealed the volume of troops or military resources that will be deployed during these joint operations.
