The digital outlet Cubanet has made public this Tuesday the "arbitrary" arrest of the reporter Camila Acosta in Havana, an incident that the portal describes as a "kidnapping" by Cuban authorities, occurring just a day after the "violent" detention of one of its collaborators.

"We denounce the kidnapping of journalist Camila Acosta by the Cuban regime and demand her immediate release. They just arbitrarily detained her when she was going with her pet to the veterinarian", the outlet said in a message circulated on its social networks.

In that same post, the portal recalled that this Monday another one of its collaborators, Adelth Bonne, was arrested "violently", whom, it said, had his professional equipment taken away and was "threatened with jail".

In this way, Cubanet maintains that "the repression against Cubanet journalists seeks to prevent what is happening in Cuba from being known" and calls for "arbitrary detentions, threats, and harassment against independent press" to stop. "Reporting is not a crime", the message concludes.
