Russian authorities controlling the Ukrainian Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant have reported this Sunday a new attack attributed to Ukrainian forces against the complex's displacement center, in which eight vehicles used by the plant's personnel, considered the largest in Europe, would have been destroyed. Kyiv rejects any responsibility and attributes it to "Russian propaganda".

"Six buses and two Gazelle vans have been destroyed as a result of today's attack. There are no injuries among the personnel," the plant's administration indicated on its social media profile, detailing the material damage recorded in the affected area.

According to Russian officials, these types of actions "generate additional risks for the stable operation of the nuclear power plant, hinder its normal functioning, and pose a threat to the safety of workers," while insisting on the danger they represent for the complex's daily activity.

Even so, the authorities appointed by Moscow maintain that the plant continues to operate normally. "The operational safety of the plant is fully guaranteed and all process parameters are constantly monitored by personnel," they emphasized, underlining that surveillance systems remain active.

The plant's administration also recalled that on Saturday a projectile from Ukraine hit the turbine building of Unit 6 of the complex, an incident that was reported to the International Atomic Energy Agency, which is closely monitoring the situation in Zaporizhzhia.

For their part, Ukrainian authorities have denied any participation in these events and have accused Russia of "sacrificing its own vehicles just to fabricate another lie." "We insist: the Ukrainian Defense Forces do not attack nuclear power facilities," the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated in a statement.

The Ministry added that "it is the illegal occupation of the plant by Russian troops, its militarization, and its use as a military facility that pose a constant threat to safety and nuclear radiation in the entire region," holding Moscow responsible for any possible incident at the plant.
