At least four people have lost their lives this Thursday after the collapse of a dwelling in the Moroccan city of Fez, according to the confirmation of local authorities, who have also ordered the evacuation of residents of adjacent buildings as a preventive measure.
From the prefecture of Fez, they have detailed that the incident occurred in the Jrondi Ain Nokbi neighborhood. Emergency and rescue services have cordoned off the area and established a security perimeter due to the danger of further collapses, as reported by the Moroccan state news agency, MAP.
The same sources have indicated that six other people have been injured and have been transferred to a hospital in Fez, while teams continue their search efforts in case there are more victims among the rubble. In parallel, authorities have launched an investigation to clarify the origin and circumstances of the collapse.
