The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has insisted this Saturday that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz will only be possible if the United States accepts the conditions set by Tehran, and not as a result of the conversations that the country is having with Oman.
"When the U.S. side accepts the conditions of the Islamic Republic of Iran and abandons its interventionist approach, the conditions for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz will undoubtedly be created," concluded the spokesman for the Revolutionary Guard, Hosein Mohabi, according to the Tasnim news agency.
In the same vein, Mohabi has urged Washington not to interfere in the diplomatic contacts that Iran is developing with Oman and in the possible meetings that could be held soon with other actors in the region.
A few days ago, the Iranian spokesman for Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baqaei, already reported a preliminary agreement with Oman to jointly manage a new maritime route through the strait.
