The Deputy Secretary of Economy and Sustainable Development of the Popular Party, Alberto Nadal, has demanded that the Government go to Parliament to provide explanations for the invasion of Ceuta and has criticized that the "irresponsible" migration policy of the President of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, "has isolated Spain in the European Union (EU)."
"There can be no political impunity in the face of 150 deaths. There can be no political impunity in the face of an attack on territorial integrity. There can be no political impunity in the face of an attack on national sovereignty," he emphasized this Saturday before the media.
Likewise, he pointed out that, "in the face of an unprecedented migration, humanitarian, and national security crisis, the Government cannot hide and refuse to appear in Parliament as demanded by the Popular Party."
He noted that Ceuta is also a "border point" between the EU and Morocco and stressed that Spain's migration decisions impact the entire European Union: "This is what European partners have reminded Sánchez, who do not share his migration policy, who do not agree with the policies of massive regularization that create pull effects and generate crises like the current one."
"That is why Sánchez is increasingly isolated on the European continent and is facing some of the EU governments. A responsible policy would have avoided these confrontations and would have prevented the isolation of Spain in the Union," he stated.
Nadal also denounced the situation in which, in his opinion, the citizens of Ceuta find themselves and recalled that basic services such as healthcare depend directly on the central Executive in this autonomous city: "The Government has not only failed in the management of these services, but it has also not provided the necessary resources, which is impossible when it has not presented General State Budgets in the last three years."
Finally, he insisted that Sánchez's Executive has failed to fulfill the essential function of the State: "To guarantee security and public order."
