The founder and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk, has reacted with sarcasm this Wednesday to the defeat of the Republican Party in the midterm elections in the United States, elections in which he had made a historic contribution in donations in favor of this formation, while the Democrats have managed to secure control of both chambers of Congress.

"I suppose my space lasers to interfere in the elections haven't worked this time," he wrote in a message on social media after it was confirmed that the severe setback suffered at the polls by the party of the tenant of the White House, Donald Trump.

The South African businessman has contributed more than $445 million (nearly 400 million euros) in the current election cycle to back Republican candidates, which has placed him as the largest donor in an election in the United States since the removal in 2010 of the limit on election spending.
