The Polish authorities have reported that this Friday they have once again put combat aircraft in the air as a preventive measure to safeguard their airspace against the new wave of attacks launched by Russia against Ukraine.

"This morning, once again, the Polish fighters were put on alert to patrol Polish skies, and the air defense systems were activated. Every day, and even several times during the guard service, Polish pilots and all soldiers are ready to defend Poland," confirmed the Polish Minister of Defense, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, in a message on social media.

Previously, the Command of Operations of the Armed Forces of Poland had indicated that the air surveillance mission over its territory had concluded without any incursions or violations of airspace being detected.

The Polish Armed Forces have emphasized that this mission is carried out "in order to ensure security" while Russian airstrikes against various targets in Ukraine continue.

In this regard, the Polish Army has stressed that it is closely monitoring the evolution of the situation in Ukrainian territory and "remains in constant readiness to ensure the security of Polish airspace."
