The Government of Saudi Arabia reiterated this Tuesday that it will respond "firmly" to any threat that may compromise its sovereignty or its interests, coinciding with the new claim by the Houthis of attacks on Saudi targets, including Abha airport and a military base.

Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman chaired a new meeting of the Council of Ministers in which it was emphasized that Saudi Arabia will assert its right to defense and, in addition, he urged the international community to take the necessary measures to strengthen maritime security in the area.

The Saudi Executive has condemned "all violations that threaten the security and protection of maritime navigation and global energy supply" and has stressed that "despite the challenges," the country "has continued to supply energy reliably to global markets".

In recent hours, the Houthi rebels have again attributed attacks to Saudi positions, while they denounce that the military operations of the coalition led by Riyadh in Yemen have caused the deaths of 17 people and left more than fifty injured.
