The Armed Forces of Ukraine have reported this Friday that combat losses suffered by the Russian Army since the start of the invasion in February 2022 have already surpassed the threshold of 1.6 million personnel, adding both killed and wounded in the context of the war ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army has said that "the estimated total losses of the enemy between February 24, 2022 and November 6, 2026 amount to approximately 1,601,830", a figure that includes 2,440 casualties recorded during the last day of fighting in the east of the country.
In the same assessment, Ukrainian military authorities detail that, throughout the conflict, Russia would have lost 12,456 tanks, 25,651 troop transport vehicles, 51,956 artillery systems, 1,744 air defense systems, 452 aircraft, 356 helicopters, 35 ships, two submarines, and more than 597,600 drones, according to their estimates.
"The Forces of Defense of Ukraine are systematically destroying the personnel, armaments, military equipment, and support assets of the enemy," the General Staff emphasized in a statement released through its official channels on social networks, where it insists on the sustained impact of these actions on Russian combat capability.
"This weakens its offensive capabilities, makes it difficult to replace resources and resupply the troops, and reduces Russia's capacity to continue its armed aggression against Ukraine," it added, before calling on citizens to join the ranks of the Army "to protect their family and achieve lasting peace".
