The PP and Vox have formally requested that the Central Electoral Board (JEC) be able to consult the information that the public company Correos transfers every day to the Ministry of the Interior regarding the evolution of requests for postal voting.
In a note circulated to the media, the PP specifies that it does not question that the Interior receives that daily report, but it demands that the same data be provided "at the same time, with the same level of detail and under the same conditions" both to the JEC and to all the candidacies that will stand in the general elections on 29 November next.
The conservatives emphasize that it is "especially relevant information" in the midst of the campaign, since these bulletins include the daily evolution of requests for postal voting, the figures for delivery of documentation to voters and the votes sent to the polling boards, as well as the comparison with previous electoral processes.
The party recalls that a ministerial order from 2025 established that these data would be sent only to the Ministry of the Interior, something which, in its view, grants "advantage" and "privileged information" to the PSOE over the rest of the political forces. They add that the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande Marlaska, is also listed as a PSOE candidate for the Congress for the constituency of Madrid.
From the PP, they insist that "in an election there cannot be candidacies with more information than others -- they argue from the PP --. Electoral information cannot be the exclusive property of the Government: same rules, same data and the same guarantees for everyone".
Vox demands total transparency and publication on the website
At the same time, the Vox MEP Jorge Buxadé has circulated a message on the social network X in which he calls on the JEC to ensure that the information that Correos sends to the Government "is made available to all the parties that compete and to all Spaniards".
In addition, Buxadé considers that the Electoral Board should instruct the postal operator to publish those data directly on its website. "Transparency and objectivity," he has added.
