ERC and Podem Catalunya are in the final phase of an agreement to run jointly in the general elections on November 29 in the four Catalan provinces, according to sources familiar with the process explained this Sunday.

These sources detail that the intention is to articulate an "impact candidacy" led by the current spokesperson for ERC in Congress, Gabriel Rufián, and by the Podemos MEP and former minister, Irene Montero, maintaining that tandem as a reference for the project.

According to the same information, the understanding would also contemplate that Rufián could participate in campaign events of Podemos in the rest of the State, while it is analyzed whether the electoral formula will be ERC-Podem or if it will opt to run only with the ERC initials incorporating independents from the purple space.

ERC confirmed this Sunday that Rufián will finally be the head of the list for the republicans in the elections on November 29, an appointment that will be ratified in a meeting of the National Executive of the party.

In the coming days, it is expected that the pending aspects of the candidacy will be defined through the celebration of the various regional congresses, in which the agreements between both formations will be finalized.
