The Deputy Secretary of Institutional Regeneration of the PP, Cuca Gamarra, has criticized this Friday the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, whom she accuses of focusing on "muddling" and seeking "the fight" regarding the fires, when, as she has emphasized, the priority should be coordination to extinguish the fire.
"We are not here for fights," Gamarra insisted, after Puente criticized the communities governed by the PP for requesting the intervention of the Military Emergency Unit (UME) in the extinction of the forest fires while, at the same time, applying tax cuts to the highest incomes. "Then they ask the Government to solve the issue for them," the minister wrote on 'X'.
At this moment, the UME is participating in the efforts against the fires declared in several municipalities of the Community of Madrid and Castilla y León, autonomous communities led by the 'popular' Alfonso Fernández Mañueco and Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
ASKS THE MINISTER TO FOCUS ON HIS MINISTRY AND STOP TWEETING
In an interview on 'Cuatro', reported by Europa Press, Gamarra has condemned "the attitude" of the Minister of Transport for entering "into political attack" and, in her opinion, being "muddling the situation" in light of the current wave of fires affecting Spain.
"I think it needs to be denounced. And Minister Puente should focus on what he needs to focus on, which is to ensure that the trains function in this country, which is not happening. He should stop tweeting and start assuming his responsibilities at the head of the infrastructures of this country," the PP leader has demanded.
In the same vein, Gamarra has emphasized that her party expects the Executive of Pedro Sánchez "to focus on collaborating and addressing this situation." "Everyone, from the first to the last, because it would only be missing that there are already ministers who are dedicating themselves to confrontation and seeking the fight," she pointed out, stressing that the citizens require that the different administrations "are collaborating as is happening."
After expressing the "solidarity" of the PP with those affected by the fires, she emphasized that her party demands that "all available means be activated not only at the autonomous level but also at the national and evidently at the European level to be able to face this extreme situation."
