The Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, held a second telephone conversation this Thursday afternoon with the president of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas, to update him on the reinforcement of the National Police and Civil Guard deployed in the city due to the migratory crisis resulting from the massive entry of people through the border with Morocco.

According to sources from the Ministry of the Interior, Marlaska also conveyed the agreement reached with the Ministry of Defense to mobilize its units in direct support of the Civil Guard.

In this communication, the Interior Minister also reiterated the support and commitment of the department he leads to ensure security in Ceuta and achieve the restoration of normality as soon as possible.

Grande-Marlaska, who had already contacted Vivas early in the morning during his visit to the Advanced Command Post of the fires in Navaluenga (Ávila), is scheduled to travel to Ceuta this Friday accompanied by the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.

In the autonomous city, both will visit the El Tarajal area and hold a coordination meeting with Vivas; the Government delegate, Miguel Ángel Pérez; the commanders of the National Police and the Civil Guard, as well as the director of the CETI and officials from the Red Cross of Ceuta.
