The spokesperson for Junts in Congress and top of the list for Barcelona in the general elections, Miriam Nogueras, this Tuesday celebrated that the Supreme Court judge who instructed the case of the 'procés', Pablo Llarena, has decided to close the proceedings that were being kept open against the leader of her party, Carles Puigdemont. "This is a victory for the independence movement and for President Puigdemont," she said to the media in the Congress of Deputies.

The magistrate has brought the case against the former president of the Generalitat to a close, but has left in the hands of the Criminal Chamber, which was the one tasked with trying the case, the effective application of the Amnesty Law.

Nogueras has said that it is "very good news" that the investigating judge has set aside the indictment against Puigdemont and she has stressed that now all that remains is for the Criminal Chamber to archive the proceedings "in a definitive manner" through the application of the Amnesty Law, "a final step" that she trusts will take place "immediately".
