The minister for Digital Transformation and Public Function and the highest responsible for the Madrid socialists, Óscar López, has reproached the Popular Party (PP) for "betraying the people" by attending this Saturday in Madrid the 'March for Dignity', which he has defined as an "ultra demonstration", and instead being absent from the planned calls in the capital in defense of housing and education.
The mobilization this morning, organized by Sociedad Civil Española (SCE), has gathered about 20,000 people, according to data from the Government Delegation, with the aim of showing support for Ceuta and demanding the immediate holding of elections. Among the attendees were the leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, and several officials from the PP, led by its general secretary, Miguel Tellado.
In relation to this, the minister has stated that "the PP will never be seen defending housing or education but will always be seen at the ultra demonstrations that are called to insult." "Each sheep with its partner," he emphasized in statements to the media before participating in an event of his party in the capital.
In this context, he has condemned that Tellado has labeled the central Government as "traitor" and has stressed that it is the formation led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo "who betrays Maricarmen," the 87-year-old woman evicted last Wednesday in Madrid, "and hundreds of thousands of people who cannot afford a home" by "looking for luxury penthouses" for the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
"It is the PP, who goes with the ultras and who looks for luxury penthouses for the president instead of defending the citizens, who betrays public education, who betrays public health. It is who betrays the citizens to then give hefty profits to companies that in turn finance Ayuso's environment. That is the truth. The PP is who betrays this country, going with the far-right to insult, instead of going with the citizens to defend the welfare state," López has concluded.
