National Police agents maintain a large device at the entrance of the Temporary Stay Center for Immigrants (CETI) in Ceuta after several hundred people of Maghreb and Sub-Saharan origin tried to force their way into the interior of the facility, as confirmed by Europa Press on the ground.
Up to five police vans have been sent to the reception center following the alert from inside the facilities, where employees were forced to take shelter when fights and moments of tension began outside.
Police sources cited by Europa Press have indicated that the situation is still not fully normalized, although the agents have managed to push away from the main door the migrants who were trying to enter.
The CETI has been experiencing a situation of collapse for days. This Thursday, it already housed around a thousand people, despite having only 512 available places. In the surroundings of the complex, another 1,000 immigrants who have not been able to be accommodated inside have been sleeping since yesterday.
Around 9:45 PM this Friday, the number of people concentrated outside the reception center has decreased, and only about 400 remain, mostly of Sub-Saharan origin, scattered along the edges of the uphill road leading to the CETI.
