The secretary of Organization of the PSdeG, Lara Méndez, has charged against the president of the Xunta and maximum responsible of the PPdeG, Alfonso Rueda, whom she blames for laying out the "red carpet" for the far-right at a time when, as she recalls, "half of Europe raises a sanitary cordon." In her opinion, "It is increasingly clear that PP and Vox are the same. We are not saying it, he confirms it every time he speaks," she has reproached.
The socialist leader has expressed this, through a statement, following Rueda's words in an interview granted to Europa Press. In it, the Galician president considered that, if the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, does not obtain enough support in the general elections to govern "alone," he will be "forced to form majorities," assuming that Vox will be part of that equation. In this context, he defended that "The logical thing" is that "he seeks those majorities and that they are normalized if necessary."
A day later, these statements have provoked the response of the PSdeG. Méndez interprets that, for Rueda, "to pact with the far-right is the logical thing." "That is to say, to seat in the governments those who deny gender-based violence and climate change, for example, is the logical thing," she has criticized, harshly questioning the position of the head of the Galician Executive.
The person responsible for Organization of the PSdeG has emphasized that Rueda himself "admits that he does not like many of Vox's postulates" and, despite this, "he asks to normalize them." "He recognizes what they are and asks them to step forward," she has emphasized. Therefore, she has urged the leader of the PPdeG to clarify to the Galician citizenry that, "when he needs the votes of the far-right, he will do exactly what he recommends to Feijóo today."
Méndez has warned that "The door he opens in Madrid goes directly to San Caetano. Vox does not have deputies in the Galician Parliament today and the job of a president would be for them to continue not having them, not to prepare the ground for them," she has denounced, emphasizing that the PSdeG is "not" willing to "normalize the far-right."
