The MEP and member of the leadership of Vox, Jorge Buxadé, has reiterated that the party would be willing to support an eventual motion of no confidence against the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, as long as its objective is "the immediate call for elections" and it does not involve "pacts with coup plotters".

"We have been saying for two years that we will support a motion of no confidence for the immediate call for elections and to give a voice to the Spanish people. That is what we want. Without any kind of concession, compromise, or pact with the coup plotters," Buxadé asserted in an interview on 'La Noche en 24 horas' on TVE, as reported by Europa Press.

The words of the Vox leader come after the PP and Junts have registered two amendments to incorporate into the Popular Group's motion, which will be debated this Thursday, a section demanding the head of the Executive dissolve Parliament and immediately call general elections. However, PSOE and Sumar have joined forces in the Congress's Board to block this request.

In relation to this parliamentary move, Buxadé recalled that Vox has already "presented numerous initiatives in similar or similar terms" and that the Congress's Board "has rejected them" or deemed them inadmissible "with similar arguments." "And yet it has not become news," he added.

In this context, the MEP has lashed out at the PSOE, holding it responsible for deteriorating the quality of democracy and the rule of law, as well as for "instrumentalizing" institutions for its own benefit.

"We have filed numerous appeals for protection with the Constitutional Court demanding that the Congress's Board do its job properly and respect the rights of all deputies, and not just those of Sánchez's majority parties," he stressed.

Finally, when questioned about a possible rapprochement between Junts and the PP, Buxadé dismissed any expectation of understanding and assured that he "does not foresee anything." "From a separatist party, from a coup-plotting party, from a party that still has its leader in Waterloo living off the fairy tale, I can expect nothing from them," he concluded.
