Aldi faces the final phase of its expansion plan in Spain for 2026 with the launch of 10 supermarkets between October and December, a schedule that will allow it to complete the year with more than 520 operating establishments in the country.
As the company has detailed in a statement, the supermarket chain will take advantage of these months to consolidate its presence in Catalonia, Aragon, the Valencian Community, the Region of Murcia, Andalusia, and the Canary Islands, where it will concentrate the new openings.
With this schedule of openings, the company will maintain the growth path followed throughout 2026, a year in which it will have reached around 30 openings, including both new centers and reopening stores, and in which it has achieved one of the most relevant milestones in its history in Spain, by surpassing 500 stores in the domestic market for the first time in March.
The expansion of its retail network will be accompanied by an increase in headcount at Aldi Spain. Between October and December, the company plans to hire 430 professionals, a figure that includes both the reinforcements needed for the upcoming openings and the creation of new jobs.
