A total of 4,262 farmers and ranchers from La Rioja have already processed the single application for the aids of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) corresponding to the 2026 campaign, with a declared area in the community that exceeds 176,141 hectares.

At the state level, 563,095 single applications have been counted, which sum a declared area of 22.03 million hectares, figures very similar to those of the previous campaign. The total volume of the direct aids planned reaches 4,897 million euros.

In the whole of Spain, 82% of the applicants have decided to adhere to some eco-scheme, which highlights the consolidation of these practices within the framework of the Strategic Plan of the CAP 2023-2027, which enters its fourth year of validity.

The autonomous communities will be able to start making the advance payments within the established deadlines, while practically all of the aids must be paid before June 30, 2027.

The total number of applicants has decreased by 3.3% compared to the previous year, which shows an evolution towards a "smaller number of larger farms and a progressive professionalization of the sector."

The eco-schemes apply to 19.2 million hectares, that is, 88% of the declared area for the basic income aid, and contribute to improving soil fertility, carbon capture, and biodiversity.

In the chapter of associated aids, the area dedicated to protein crops and tomatoes for processing is growing, while that of sugar beet decreases and, to a lesser extent, that of raisins, rice, nuts, and cotton. The area of olive groves remains stable. All these data are provisional, according to the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA).
