The 2026 edition of the “Aprofitem els Aliments” campaign has concluded with the recovery of 21,773.7 kilos of food and the involvement of 4,042 participating people, as the Departament de Agricultura de la Generalitat, which is driving the initiative along with Fundació Espigoladors, Plataforma Aprofitem els Aliments and other collaborating entities, detailed this Friday in a statement.

During the month of October, it was again activated for restaurants, foodservice and agro-food sector professionals, social entities, companies in the food sector, volunteers and the general public, with the aim of reducing food loss and waste, as well as reinforcing awareness-raising tasks.

Among the most notable actions of the campaign are the Gastrorecup meals, the VI Marató d'Espigolades, the Gran Dinar d'Aprofitament and the Gastrorecup Solidari, incorporated as one of the main novelties in this edition.

“Gastrorecup” achieved a “record” participation of more than 100 Catalan restaurants, which served 3,177 meals made with 15,828 kilos of recovered food.

The “VI Marató d'Espigolades” took shape in 6 activities spread across different points of Catalunya, with the collaboration of 139 volunteer people and the recovery of 4,964 kilos of fruit and vegetables. For its part, the “Gran Dinar d'Aprofitament”, held this year in Cervera (Lleida), offered 308 menus made from 981 kilos of recovered food.
