Blueberries El Cierrón, based in Villaviciosa, has been selected as one of the ten distinguished companies in the seventh edition of the BBVA Awards for the Best Sustainable Producers, whose list of winners was made public last week.
The award recognizes its pink blueberry, an uncommon variety that combines a unique gastronomic proposal, organic production, and the use of precision agriculture techniques.
The Asturian company has a long history since 1989 in the cultivation of blueberries and other organic red fruits, in addition to having a nursery specialized in berry plants. Its work extends from production to marketing, which allows it to ensure traceability and monitor the quality of the product at all stages.
