Álvaro Capellán, the farmer from Zorraquín, has once again been recognized as one of the best hosts of model farm holdings within the CULTIVA 2026 Program, as part of the III National Meeting of this initiative, which took place on 4 and 5 November in Madrid.
It is the second consecutive year that Álvaro Capellán has received this distinction, which highlights his commitment to training the new generations of field professionals and his role as a host for young farmers on his own holding.
With the support of UPA Rioja, Álvaro Capellán has been part of the CULTIVA Program since it was launched in 2020, bringing his experience, knowledge, and daily work to young people who want to strengthen their practical preparation and discover new ways to carry out agricultural activity.
The CULTIVA Program, funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, aims to provide practical training to young farmers and livestock breeders through training stays on model host farms.
Thanks to these stays, participants have the opportunity to acquire and reinforce knowledge on technical and management issues, learn from the experiences of other professionals, and access tools that they can then apply in developing their own holdings.
This new award represents a endorsement of the effort and dedication of Álvaro Capellán, and underscores the importance of hosting farmers and livestock breeders in the transfer of knowledge, the exchange of experiences, and the推动 of generational renewal in the agricultural sector.
UPA Rioja considers this type of initiative to be very positive, as it helps to facilitate the entry of young people into the countryside, strengthen their professional skills, and help to ensure the future of agriculture and livestock farming.
