The spokesperson for Vox in the Cortes of Aragón, Santiago Morón, stated this Tuesday that the Department of Environment of the regional government "is reinforcing the means, technology, and response capacity of Infoar" after the wildfires recorded this summer, also emphasizing that his party does not accept "any lesson" from the PSOE.
Morón thus replied to the socialist deputy Lorena Canales, who this morning, in a press conference, described that Aragón has gone through "a very worrying situation" and has set "a red line" against "the complacency" that, in her opinion, the PP-Vox Government shows.
In his intervention, the representative of Vox also wanted to convey his condolences to the families and colleagues of the firefighter from the DPZ and the worker from a company in Calatorao (Zaragoza) who died on August 18 in the fire of an industrial warehouse, as well as to the sergeant of the Military Emergency Unit (UME) who died on August 16 in a traffic accident while participating in the firefighting efforts of the Las Peñas de Riglos (Huesca) fire.
"It is difficult to hear the PSOE come to give lessons on fire prevention today," Morón stated, recalling that the PSOE has been the party that has governed the Autonomous Community the longest, with a period of "eight years, eight budgets, and eight fire campaigns" between 2015 and 2023, "with all the competencies and all the responsibility over our mountains."
In this line, he reproached that "now they discover prevention, now they discover that resources are lacking, that the mountains need to be managed, now they discover all the problems they were unable to solve," adding that "the PSOE has discovered from the opposition everything they forgot during the eight years in government and this is already starting to become a habit." Therefore, Morón demanded that the socialists "start by explaining what they did during those eight years."
For Santiago Morón, "the PSOE is disqualified from giving lessons on practically everything they had years to solve and did not solve." He also emphasized that "while practically the entire Government of Aragón has been on the ground from the very first moment, facing the situation, Pedro Sánchez took 26 days to convene the National Security Council in the face of a violation of the territorial integrity of Spain, as he himself described the invasion of Ceuta."
"In the face of the shamelessness of the PSOE, we are going to continue working," concluded the leader of Vox, pointing out that the PP-Vox government agreement includes commitments such as the creation of security rings around the urban centers of municipalities through forest cleaning work.
