The Community of Madrid is working to replace two of the three family doctors who consult at the local clinic in Villalbilla, which, along with those in Los Hueros and Zulema, totals 15,625 active health cards.
This was pointed out by the General Director of Health Care of the Madrid Health Service (Sermas), Almudena Quintana Morgado, during her appearance at the Health Commission of the Assembly, in response to a question from Vox deputy Raquel Barrero Alba about the situation of this health center.
The person in charge of the Health Department detailed that the Villalbilla clinic has 4,983 registered individuals and has a staff composed of three family doctors, one pediatrician, two nursing professionals, and administrative support staff.
Currently, she indicated, two of the three family doctors are in a situation of Long-Term Temporary Disability (IT), which has forced the implementation of internal organizational and replacement measures. "It is a circumstance that affects the organization of care and that naturally requires adopting measures to ensure its continuity," she emphasized.
In this line, she specified that the two replacements "are authorized" and that there are already "professionals ready for their incorporation." "In the meantime, we have organized medical support from other centers in the area. We are using the available coverage and care reorganization mechanisms to maintain attention while this situation in the staff normalizes," she added.
She recalled that currently, three family doctors from other centers of the Eastern Care Directorate are providing support "on different days," "in addition to other reorganization measures to maintain health care during all working days."
Quintana insisted that the clinic maintains its usual hours from 8 in the morning to 9 at night, with nursing care and administrative staff throughout the day, and that medical assistance in the afternoon shift is reinforced from the devices of Torres de la Alameda and Los Güeros.
"In short, we are using the available resources in the area to respond to a coverage situation that specifically affects this clinic while we advance in the incorporation of the professionals who must cover the affected positions," she stated.
Likewise, it has advanced that the Department is collaborating with the City Council to have a plot "that allows addressing the space needs of the clinic and adapting its facilities to the evolution of the population" and that, in addition, the creation of a new Nursing position has been requested.
"The commitment of the Government of the Community of Madrid is to maintain continuity of care, recover medical coverage, and continue adapting resources to the needs of the neighbors," he concluded.
