The National Court has ordered the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Guardia Civil to detain six people so that they may give a statement within the framework of a new separate and secret piece of the 'Koldo case', led by investigating judge Ismael Moreno.
Legal sources consulted by Europa Press confirm that among those detained is Andrea de la Torre, the partner of the former Minister of Transport José Luis Ábalos, whose home in Valencia has been registered again this Thursday by UCO agents.
Among the arrest orders is also Cristian Corvillo, whom the PP identifies as the driver of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, during the PSOE primaries held in 2017.
On September 3 of last year, Cristian Corvillo appeared before judge Santiago Pedraz, the investigating judge in the 'hydrocarbons case', where he admitted having met with the former minister Ábalos on matters linked to the PSOE, in addition to acknowledging that he and his brother Rubén maintained a business relationship with the alleged intermediary Víctor de Aldama, although he specified that those businesses did not end up being carried out.
The investigators also have a mandate to obtain documentation in Adif, among other steps agreed after the judge of the National Court who investigates the 'Koldo case', Ismael Moreno, decided this Wednesday to open a new piece after receiving a report from the UCO.
The actions have been carried out in Córdoba, Seville, Valencia, and Madrid. In the context of the 'Koldo case', the judge keeps open several lines of investigation, including the one that gave rise to the procedure, focused on the alleged irregularities in the purchase of face masks during the pandemic.
The part relating to the face masks was partly tried by the Supreme Court, which put in the dock the former minister José Luis Ábalos, his former adviser Koldo García, and the businessman Víctor de Aldama, due to the status of protected member of parliament that the former Transport official held at the time he was prosecuted.
The high court imposed on the three prison sentences --Ábalos 24 years, Koldo 19, and Aldama four--, although it allowed the businessman and middleman to avoid going to prison due to his cooperation with the courts and on the condition that he does not commit another offense.
In this case, Moreno also analyzes alleged rigging in public works contracts and cash payments by the PSOE between 2017 and 2024 to reimburse expenses advanced, a piece of information that likewise remains under secrecy of the case file.
