The president of the Govern, Marga Prohens, has demanded from the central Executive an "urgent" reaction to reinforce the protection of the borders after the massive arrival of migrants to Ceuta recorded this Thursday.

In a message disseminated on her profile on the social network X, reported by Europa Press, Prohens has warned that the western Mediterranean is becoming the "main focus of migratory pressure in Europe."

The Balearic leader has described the images of the entry of migrants in Ceuta as "very concerning" and has emphasized that the Balearic Islands are already suffering from migratory pressure similar to that which the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla have endured for years.

Prohens has indicated that she has personally conveyed her support to the president of Ceuta, Juan Vivas, and that both share the request to the Government for a clear response to improve border control.

In this regard, she has stressed that "the problem cannot continue to be denied, nor can we look the other way" and has urged the central Government to implement a national migratory policy that does not leave "abandoned" the communities and autonomous cities or Spanish citizens.
