Chunta Aragonesista (CHA) has stated this Tuesday that it shares solidarity with the population of Ceuta in light of the situation that the autonomous city is going through after the massive entry of migrants recorded on July 30. However, the party has advanced that it will not join the concentrations planned for this Wednesday by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), understanding that these calls are "politically instrumentalized by PP and Vox."
In this line, CHA has considered the use of the term "invasion" to be "especially serious," estimating that it "dehumanizes" migrant people, including minors, and transforms a humanitarian crisis into "a narrative of fear and confrontation."
"Support for Ceuta, yes; partisan use of its suffering, no," they have emphasized from the Aragonese formation, stressing that "Human Rights cannot be left out of the political response."
From CHA they have added that "We defend a serious, coordinated, and respectful institutional response with international law, asylum, and the protection of minors."
