The San Isidro Fair 2026 already has a start date. Next May 9, the Las Ventas bullring will open its doors to begin the bullfighting season in Madrid, in an edition that will feature the main figures of the standings and with the focus on the comeback of Roca Rey, after the serious goring suffered in the Maestranza of Seville during the April Fair.
For more than a month, until June 14, the Madrid bullring will host a poster featuring prominent names such as Alejandro Talavante, José María Manzanares, Daniel Luque, El Cid, Sebastián Castella, Tomás Rufo or Juan Ortega, in one of the most relevant events on the international bullfighting calendar.
À Punt will broadcast ten bullfights live
As a novelty, the Valencian public radio and television, À Punt, will broadcast ten events from the fair in the open. The broadcasts will be concentrated on weekends and will allow live coverage of some of the most outstanding bullfights of the cycle.
The broadcasts will begin on Saturday, May 9 and will extend until the traditional Charity Bullfight of June 14, with a program that includes top-tier ranches and lineups.
Featured Fair Posters
Among the celebrations that can be followed on television are events such as the opening day with Miguel Ángel Perera, Daniel Luque and Tomás Rufo, or the closing bullfight with Talavante, Roca Rey and Víctor Hernández.
Combinations with bullfighters such as Antonio Ferrera, Paco Ureña, Román, or Fernando Adrián, along with reference ranches such as Victorino Martín, Adolfo Martín, or Fuente Ymbro, also stand out.
Weekend Broadcasts
The televised bullfights will take place on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 7:00 PM, with a team led by the journalist Jorge Casals, presenter of ‘La plaça’, accompanied in the commentary by the Valencian bullfighter Manolo Carrión.
From À Punt they underline that the objective is to offer coverage that combines dissemination, rigor, and closeness, aimed both at the regular fan and at new viewers.
Madrid, epicenter of bullfighting
With this edition, the San Isidro Fair once again places Madrid as the epicenter of bullfighting, in a year marked by anticipation surrounding several figures and by the return to the bullrings of one of the most media-savvy names of the moment.
The Madrid event thus consolidates its role as one of the great showcases of bullfighting, with a month of uninterrupted activity that will set the pace for the season.
