La Lotería de Navidad already has an announcement for 2026. Loterías y Apuestas del Estado has presented this Friday 'Corazonada', a story about second chances and the importance of sharing, starring a man who receives a heart transplant and begins to see life in a different way. The campaign recaptures the emotional tone of Christmas advertisements with a message that summarizes its argument: "Sharing gives us life".
The president of Loterías y Apuestas del Estado, Jesús Huerta Almendro, has announced the advertisement at an event held at the Real Casa de la Moneda, in Madrid, a little over six weeks before the Sorteo Extraordinario de Navidad, which will take place next 22 December.
The advertising film, five minutes in its full version, was filmed in Santander and uses its protagonist’s heart transplant to tell a story about gratitude, unexpected encounters, and the possibility of starting again.
This is 'Corazonada', the Lotería de Navidad 2026 advertisement
The story begins with a man who receives a heart transplant after a long wait. The operation gives him a second chance and changes the way he understands life, which he starts to view with greater hope.
Some time later, while he strolls through the city, he feels a hunch and decides to buy a Lotería de Navidad ticket. At that moment, a dog approaches him and begins barking at him. Its owner is surprised by the animal’s reaction, which usually does not behave that way.
The encounter leads to a conversation between the two strangers. The protagonist senses a special connection and decides to offer the woman the ticket he has just bought to share it.
"Not long ago, someone shared something very important with me and it has given me another life", he explains while pointing to his heart.
The scene summarizes the campaign’s message: sharing is not limited to distributing a prize, but it can change another person’s life.
Santander, the setting for this year’s advertisement
The advertisement has been filmed in different locations in Santander, with recognizable spots such as El Sardinero, Cañadío, and the Paseo de Pereda.
The Cantabrian capital thus takes over from other Spanish cities that have served as the setting for Loterías’ Christmas campaigns.
The filming took place during the month of October and allowed several spaces in the city to be turned into the setting of a story that combines everyday life with one of the most anticipated moments of the Christmas calendar.
Where to watch the full announcement of the 2026 Christmas Lottery
Loterías y Apuestas del Estado has published the official version of 'Corazonada', of approximately five minutes, on its YouTube channel.
The campaign continues an advertising tradition that each year accompanies the start of the countdown to the draw of December 22.
Among the most remembered ads are the one for Antonio’s bar, from 2014; the animated story of Justino, from 2015; or the 2024 campaign, set in Vigo and focused on loneliness and solidarity. In 2025, the ad revolved around an old lottery ticket that had remained framed for three decades.
The Christmas Lottery 2026 will distribute 2.870 billion euros
The presentation of the campaign coincides with preparations for a draw that this year will distribute 2.870 billion euros in prizes, which represents an increase of 98 million compared to 2025.
The issue amounts to 4.100 billion euros, distributed in 205 series of 100,000 numbers each. In total, 205 million lottery tickets have been put on sale, seven million more than the previous year.
As is customary, 70% of the issue will be allocated to prizes. The main amounts remain:
-
The Gordo: 400,000 euros per ticket.
-
Second prize: 125,000 euros per ticket.
-
Third prize: 50,000 euros per ticket.
The price of each ticket continues to be 20 euros.
Among the novelties of this edition is the renewal of all the balls that will be introduced into the lottery drums, both those corresponding to the numbers and those for the prizes.
The 2026 ticket is illustrated with the central panel of the triptych The Annunciation, the Nativity and the Presentation in the Temple, by the Master of Half-Length Figures, a work belonging to the Museo Nacional del Prado.
The draw will be held, as each year since 2012, at the Teatro Real de Madrid, where the children of San Ildefonso will sing again the winning numbers on December 22.
