Adif has incorporated 96 new charging points for electric vehicles in 9 railway stations, thus raising the total number of chargers already in operation in 30 passenger stations to 350, as detailed by the public manager of the railway network in a statement.
The service is provided through Waylet, the payment and loyalty app of Repsol, or by bank card using the POS included in each of the devices.
This measure is part of the Adif and Adif AV Climate Change Action Plan 2018-2030, which promotes sustainable mobility and electromobility as a way to advance in the objectives of decarbonizing the economy.
Specifically, the project plans to deploy around 900 charging points in the parking lots of more than 60 stations in the Adif and Adif High Speed network by 2027, with an investment exceeding 18.2 million euros.
The latest stations to incorporate operational charging points are Algeciras (Cádiz), Cuenca Fernando Zóbel, León, Medina del Campo (Valladolid), Segovia-Guiomar, Teruel, Villena (Alicante), Xàtiva (Valencia), and Zamora.
"With this initiative, Adif and Adif AV promote sustainable transport in transfers to and from railway stations and increase services to travelers in these spaces, destined to become nodes of sustainable, intelligent, and connected mobility," the company states.
