Airbnb obtained net profit of 2.866 billion dollars (2.553 billion euros) in the first nine months of 2026, which represents an increase of 32.1% compared with the same period the previous year, according to the latest accounts communicated by the company.

Revenue rose to 11.155 billion dollars (9.937 billion euros) between January and September, 17.9% more than in the first nine months of 2025, driven by the solid evolution of tourism activity at an international scale.

In light of this trend, the company has revised upward its forecasts for the full year 2026, supported by the strength of global travel demand, the acceleration of its core business, and the impact of its product and expansion initiatives. Now it expects that its revenues will grow by around 20% year on year and that the adjusted Ebitda margin will stand at around 36% by the end of the fiscal year.

Adjusted Ebitda advanced 22% year on year, to 2.500 billion dollars (2.227 billion euros), which allowed it to expand the adjusted Ebitda margin to 52%.

In the third quarter, Airbnb recorded a 19% increase in its revenues compared with the same period of the previous year, to 4.869 billion dollars (4.337 billion euros), thereby chaining its fastest quarterly growth rate in more than three years.

The gross booking volume rebounded 21%, to 27.700 billion dollars (24.678 billion euros), while nights and booked seats increased 16% year on year.

Net profit in the third quarter reached 1.890 billion dollars (1.683 billion euros), representing an increase of 37.6%.

In the results presentation, the platform emphasized the good performance of demand in its key markets, with all regions registering double-digit growth in booked nights and North America marking its highest expansion pace in four years. At the same time, bookings from new users grew 13% year on year, the biggest increase since the beginning of 2022.

In the field of innovation, Airbnb rolled out more than 50 new products and features during the quarter, almost 70% more than a year earlier. Among these additions are tools based on artificial intelligence to facilitate searches, compare accommodations, and optimize the management of hosts.

The company continues, moreover, working on an AI agent intended to help users plan and book their trips, whose initial deployment is expected in the first half of 2027.

For the fourth quarter, the company expects to generate revenue between $3.220 billion and $3.280 billion (€2.869 billion to €2.922 billion), which would imply growth of between 16% and 18% year-on-year.

Along with these forecasts, Airbnb communicated a new authorization to repurchase up to an additional $12.000 billion (€10.690 billion) in Class A common stock.

Strategic alliance with American Express

Airbnb has strengthened its commercial expansion with an exclusive alliance with American Express, announced on October 22 of the past, through which more than one million accommodations on the platform will become available on Amex Travel.

For the first time, eligible American Express cardholders in the United States will be able to search for and book Airbnb stays through the financial entity’s travel website and app.
