The Almaraz Nuclear Power Plant has informed the Nuclear Safety Council (CSN), in accordance with the current protocols, of the shutdown of Unit 1 following the action of the turbine protections.
At this time, Unit 1 maintains all its parameters "stable" and the plant’s technical staff carries out the appropriate checks in order to be able to start up its commissioning again.
As the Almaraz Central explains in a press release, this incident "has had no impact on the workers of the facility, nor on the public or the environment".
For its part, Unit 2 continues operating "normally at 100% power".
