Boeing and Icelease have closed an agreement for the conversion of a 767-300 aircraft to a Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF), which also includes options on up to two additional units, in line with the leasing firm’s strategy of strengthening its cargo aircraft fleet.
According to what the company detailed in a statement, the first converted aircraft will be incorporated in the first quarter of 2027, while the rest of the deliveries of the modified aircraft are set for the second quarter of the same fiscal year.
The transformation work on the 767-300s into freighters will be carried out by Boeing at ST Engineering’s airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities in Singapore.
"The relationship between Icelease and Boeing goes back more than 20 years and includes numerous deliveries of new aircraft, as well as cargo conversions. The Boeing 767-300BCF will join the growing portfolio of cargo aircraft managed by IAT Leasing, which already includes seven Boeing 737-800BCF and other freighters leased to various customers," according to what Icelease managing partner Sigthor Einarsson said.
The 767-300BCF model offers an operating range of 3,300 nautical miles and can carry a maximum payload of 57 tons.
