The U.S. real estate investment manager Gencom, together with the company White Bridge Capital, has announced the purchase of the iconic hotel InterContinental Miami, a high-end accommodation with 652 rooms located in the very heart of the financial district of the Florida city, according to the company detailed in an official note.

With this acquisition, Gencom advances in its investment roadmap in higher-category hotels within the United States market.

Following this transaction, the group adds its second asset under the InterContinental brand of IHG Hotels & Resorts, after the purchase at the end of 2025 of the InterContinental New York Times Square.

The transaction also reinforces the company’s solid investment presence in the Miami area, where it already owns emblematic assets such as The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne -which has recently completed a renovation of more than 100 million dollars- and The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove.

In parallel, Gencom is developing in the same area the 'Miami Riverbridge' project, a real estate and hotel 'joint venture' together with the Hyatt group, valued at more than 1.500 billion dollars (1,341 million euros).

Gencom’s Chief Investment Officer (CIO), Alessandro Colantonio, has underscored that the integration of InterContinental Miami represents "a key opportunity to deepen the firm’s presence in one of the most dynamic and globally recognized markets", taking advantage of the momentum of the city’s sustained economic and tourism growth.

Likewise, the firm’s Head of Acquisitions, Ignasi Puig, has indicated that, after the recent complete renovations carried out in the hotel’s rooms and common areas, management’s priority will be to "strengthen revenue streams in accommodation, events and dining within a market with high barriers to entry".

The operation has significantly involved the capital contributed by White Bridge Capital and its international 'family office' partners.

The building, with 34 floors, has more than 8,300 square meters of versatile spaces for meetings and congresses, a specialized gastronomic offering and a strategic location close to the port and Miami’s financial district.
