Iberaval has highlighted in Peru the need to explore new avenues of collaboration between the public and private sectors with the aim of facilitating access for SMEs to financing. This is stated in the press release about its participation in the XXIX Ibero-American Forum on Guarantees and SME Financing, which has taken place in Arequipa (Peru).
The guarantee society has emphasized that this type of alliance acquires "special importance" in a context where digitalization, energy transition, modernization of production processes, business growth, or internationalization require investments that need "more flexible financial structures and an adequate distribution of risk."
"At Iberaval, we have been demonstrating for years that collaboration aimed at utility is efficient and, moreover, provides advantages and agility to companies, which at the moment they require financing usually operate in limited temporary spaces," said the general director of the guarantee society (SGR), Pedro Pisonero, recalling the experience accumulated by the entity in this area.
The agenda of Iberaval in Arequipa has been completed with the intervention of its risk director, Rafael Valderrey, in a workshop focused on the impact of recent crises and new technologies on risk assessment and management models. In this session, Claudia Esteban from NAFIN; Evelyn Quispe from FOGAPI; and César Álvarez from CONFIANZA also participated, providing the perspective of different Ibero-American institutions.
With this, Iberaval has reiterated its willingness to remain present in the main Ibero-American forums related to SMEs, while highlighting the links it maintains with Spanish public entities, including the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León (ICECyL), the Economic Development Agency of La Rioja (ADER), and the Government of Cantabria.
The meeting has also served to stage the start of a new organizational phase in the Ibero-American Network of Guarantees (REGAR). Its new president and representative of FOGABA, the Argentine Verónica Wejchenberg, has valued the work carried out by Iberaval at the head of the network in recent years, recognizing its contribution to the consolidation of this cooperation space.
